A Fan Day Experience

Pngaou from 9thwonders attended the Heroes Fan Day on December 11th. Thank you for sharing your experience and the great pictures!

"I got back from the strike a little while ago and it was amazing!!

I made my "HEROES Fans Support The Writers!" sign last night and packed it up to go for today. I ended up getting there a bit before 12, which was kind of awkward as well as confusing because I wasn't sure what was going on. I ran into a fellow Heroes fan and followed her to the picket site only to see Greg Grunberg there! He's as perky in person as he is in Adrian Pasdar's videos. Great guy. The other cast members who showed up were:

Greg Grunberg
Jack Coleman
Dana Davis
Sendhil Ramamurthy
Dania Ramirez
Ali Larter
Masi Oka
Cristine Rose
Kristin Bell

They were all EXTREMELY nice and welcoming and very thankful for people to be there. Each and every one of them took their time to take pictures and sign autographs, and even make conversation with people. I have to say that I was extremely charmed by Cristine Rose. She was sooooooo classy. Most of them also picketed with the writers. Tim Kring and Jeph Loeb were also there to picket and speak.

The writers are a really inspiring bunch. They were there from beginning to end and spoke with fans. They were VERY appreciative of everyone who showed up and were also grateful to know that people from 9th Wonders wanted to show up (but couldn't for various reasons).

It was just pretty surreal. The only sad thing I found about the event was that you could tell some people were ONLY there to meet the stars and not for the writers. There were even a few eBay fiends with all of their stuff ready. But minus that, it was a really amazing experience."

Now on to the pictures!

-1000 Cranes For Heroes

Mention in Wall Street Journal

Wall Street Article

All sorts of supporters are coming out of the woodwork. There are film
students looking to make contacts and hoping for tips on breaking into the
business. Neighborhood residents want to help out. And there are fans crazy
about some show or other.

They buy snacks for writers who have a lot more money
than they do. They help in symbolic ways. "Heroes" fans are sending origami
birds to the Writers Guild of America because a character on the show once
folded a thousand cranes for a woman he had fallen in love with.

Support from Adam Armus!

We received a message of thanks from another Heroes writer, Adam Armus. Thanks to Fan Liaison PetrelliByNature from 9thwonders for passing this along.

Wow. After reading and seeing what you guys are doing in support of us, I'm
truly overwhelmed. Thank you!
And to repay your kind wishes... we'd love to
say thank you is person. We'll be out in force with many of the actors from
Heroes on the picket line at Universal Studios. Hopefully, you guys have the
information. But just in case, we'll be out there on Tuesday, December 11 at
Noon. On Lankershim and Universal City Drive. We'll have some goodies to give
out. So show up and say "hi."
Thanks again for everything. We hope to get
back to work soon and bring you the show we all love so much.
Sincerely,
Adam Armus, writer, Heroes.
"BEST FANS EVER."

Michael Green

PetrelliByNature [Isa] got this message from Michael Green who wrote "Distractions," "Lizards" and "Hiros"
I thought this was a good way to start off our blog.

“BEST FANS EVER”POST 1 I just wanted to say on behalf of the Heroes writing
staff (occasionally, “The League of Heroic Scribblers”) how much we sincerely
appreciate what all have you have been doing in support of the WGA’s cause. More
than that -- we’re touched by the level of dedication, imagination and
understanding. The emails, the posts, the 1000 Cranes (now looking more like
10,000!)... it’s an amazing show of support. And it means more to us than any
award or rating. Each and every one of us would rather be back in that room on
the 4th floor, eyes stinging from the dry-erase fumes, arguing about what Peter
should do in the 3rd act. It’s what we do -- it’s what we love to do. None of us
wanted a strike. But we all know the issues are vital to the survival of the
profession. So we’re in this fight until it’s won. But knowing we’re in that
fight with our fans behind us makes all the difference. All of us at Heroes have
said many times how lucky we are to have the fans that we do. That’s never been
so evident as it is right now. So for the time being I’m changing my Heroes sign
off from the traditional one the writing staff uses to end every email -- “BEST
SHOW EVER” -- to this: “BEST FANS EVER” Michael GreenWriter, HEROES

Welcome!

We called "1000 cranes for Heroes," and our goal is to fold 1000 cranes all together and send them to the WGA.This is NOT to attempt to bring back the full length season. Instead, this is about supporting our writers and showing the WGA and the writers how important this show is to us.

Each person participating in this will fold their own cranes and send them out.

FAQS

What are you guys doing?
Ok, so here's our basic goal, everyone who joins is going to be folding as many cranes as they would like, then putting in a generic letter along with a personal letter [their choice] and sending it to the writers. Simple as that!

Are they going to be sent seperatley or together?
It was decided that it would be better if they were sent seperatley by everyone the world over.

What if I suck at folding cranes?
everyone sucks at everything when they start off. Try your hardest, and if they don't come out perfect, don't sweat it! ITS THE EFFORT THAT COUNTS

I don't have time to fold cranes, but I would like to help. What can I do?
-Post on any other forums? Use on of the signatures made here to show off our campaign. Tell your friends and family! Pass the word along!
-Heard any good information? post it here, it can be helpful to us!
-Know how to do graphics? We are in desperate need of graphics, so if you now how to work that photoshop, you are NEEDED!
